1. Each team must have the manager or a rostered adult coach (19 years or older) present at all games in order to take
the field.
2. Uniforms must be worn by all players, managers, and coaches. The uniform shall consist of baseball
shirt, baseball pants, baseball cap, and stirrups. Players must wear spikes or all-purpose sports shoes. NO ONE OUT OF UNIFORM
WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE PLAYING FIELD.
3. Each manager is required to have the following items in his possession
at all games: a Babe Ruth League Rule Book and a copy of the Local League Rules.
4. The manager of the home team
shall be the sole judge as to whether a game shall be started because of unsuitable weather conditions or unfit field conditions.
The manager of the home team has the responsibility to get the field into playable condition.
5. The managers
involved in a postponed game have five (5) days to reschedule the game and ten (10) days in which to play it. If the game
is not rescheduled by the managers in five (5) days, the League President will reschedule the game to the next day both teams
are not already scheduled.
6. Ground rules for the field will be reviewed prior to the start of each game.
7. The winning team manager will be responsible for contacting the League President with the results of the game.

8. Managers are responsible for the actions of their coaches, players, and fans at all times.
9. The Re-entry Rule will apply in accordance with the Babe Ruth Rule Book.
10. Any game scheduled
to start at 6:00 PM will have fifteen (15) minutes allowed before a forfeit is declared. Any game starting earlier than 6:00
PM will have thirty (30) minutes allowed before a forfeit is declared. A forfeit will be scored 7-0 and will be reported to
the media as such.
11. An umpire's report to the League President concerning bodily assault by a player, manager,
or coach will result in the immediate suspension of the assaulter(s). The League Board Members will then rule on the
length of the suspension or expulsion. This incident will be emailed to all teams of the Sr Babe Ruth League only after the
League Board has rendered a decision.
12. All protests must be submitted to the League President in writing within
twenty-four (24) hours of the incident. A decision will be made by, at minimum, three (3) league officers, within seventy-two
(72) hours of the incident.
13. All teams must purchase the local league accident and liability insurance.
14. All teams must have a scorebook that is kept clear and legible. Full names and uniform numbers of all players
shall be used.
15. The use of all tobacco products, including smokeless, is prohibited. This includes players,
managers, coaches, umpires, and all game personnel.
16. Players are not permitted in the stands during games.
17. The catcher must wear full equipment which includes throat protection.
18. A courtesy runner may
run for the catcher if he is on base and there are two (2) outs. The manager must notify the umpire of the change before the
first pitch is thrown to the next batter. The courtesy runner cannot be currently in the game. The courtesy runner's name
will not be shown in the scorebook.
19. The score of any regular season game, which has progressed far enough
to be official, shall be the score at the end of the last completed inning, unless the home team is ahead in its half of the
inning. Games which have not become official will be picked up at the exact point of discontinuance, if they affect the standings.
20. Tie games will not be made up and will count as one (1) point in the standings. Wins will count as two (2)
points. Standings will be determined by total points. If ties exist in the standings at the end of the season, the following
tiebreaker method will be applied: first, head-to-head results; second, best record against teams within the division; third,
a one game playoff. (A coin toss will determine home team for a tiebreaker.)
21. A game will be terminated once
becoming regulation if either team is ahead by ten (10) or more runs and both teams have had equal times at bat, or if the
home team is ahead after 4.5 inngs.
22. If a manager is found to have used illegal ball players, he will be suspended
for three (3) games. If a second offense occurs, he will be permanently expelled from the league.
23. Illegal
players will be handled per Rule 12.07 of the Babe Ruth Rule Book.
24. Managers are required to attend the two
scheduling meetings, which are held prior to the start of the season. If either of the meetings are missed, the team(s) will
not be permitted to participate in league play.
25. There will be no changes after the final scheduling meeting,
except for rainouts, or at the discretion of the League and its Board Members.
26. Teams will be dropped from
the schedule if: A. They fail to show at a scheduled game without proper notice twice
in the same season. B. They forfeit three times in the season with or without proper
notice.
27. Extra Hitter Rule As Used By Bucks County Senior Babe Ruth A. A team
MAY elect to use an EH (Extra Hitter). B. The use of the EH must be declared when the lineup
cards are exchanged prior to the start of the game.
C Once a team elects to use the EH, it is in effect for the entire game. D. Both teams do not have
to use the EH. E. The EH can bat anywhere in the batting order. F. The EH
may not participate in the game defensively; the only exception is if the EH becomes
the ninth player necessary to keep the game from becoming a forfeit. G The Re-entry
Rule will apply to the EH as it does to any other starter. H. If a player is not available to bat
and the EH is in the field, an out will be declared each time the open batting
position comes up in the order. As in any other condition, a team unable
to field nine (9) players will forfeit the game.
28. No outside events are permitted during the regular summer
season (regular season games, playoffs, and all-star play), unless the entire league may participate and written permission
is given.
29. No roster additions can be made after June 30. Twenty-four (24) hours notice must be given to add
a player to a team's roster.
